What our guests say about us

Hidden gem very close to the old town

Never judge a book by its cover. Hidden behind two discreet doors is a small, boutique hotel, perfect for couples wanting to explore Dubrovnik. Location: A short stroll from the old town (and the rather crowded public beach - at least in August). The hotel is a 30-45 minutes taxi drive from the airport. The entrance does open out onto the main highway, so extreme caution is needed to avoid traffic. Facities: With just a handful of rooms it is an oasis, although some traffic noise during busy times is inevitable. We had a spacious ground floor room with private courtyard. There are a series of sun terraces with either tables/chairs or sun beds. The small pool is ideal for such a quiet hotel with so few rooms, and was never crowded (although the pool water was looking a bit too cloudy by the end of our stay). The 'breakfast only' option was ideal for us, with hundreds of excellent restaurants in and around the old town for lunch and dinner. Although there is no bar, each room has a reasonably priced mini bar. Breakfast was excellent during our stay with hot and cold options. The staff (especially the lady manager) are lovely. Summary: If we return to Dubrovnik we would not even consider staying anywhere else. It really was that good.

A quiet oasis just outside Old Town

We travelled to Dubrovnik and the Villa Allure in July 2024. We were looking for a quiet base, easy walk to Old Town a pool to dip into on hot summer evenings. We were not disappointed! Maria greeted us just after we arrived, and made us feel very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, but at the same time, we had the peace and quiet we needed. Breakfast gave us a range of options - fruit, cereal, continental breakfast, or a cooked breakfast. My other half had pancakes three days running. For the vegan traveller, Maria was very happy to provide soya milk for tea in the room, and at breakfast time. We stayed in the ‘Stradun’ room and loved it. Lots of original features, lovely bathroom, very clean, small terrace through a patio door. To be honest we didn’t really use the private terrace much, as the pool area was often very quiet. I also used the small but well-equipped gym on a few occasions, and unlike some bigger hotels I’ve visited, it was air conditioned, thankfully! Old Town is a short walk from Villa Allure, with all the splendour of the sand-coloured buildings, as well as a rich and sometimes sad history. The accommodation is also well-placed to get a boat to Cavtat or Lokrum. Picturesque terrace/gardens around the pool, comfy bed in our room, and a useful key-card safe for any valuables. In summary, highly recommended!

Excellent stay in a very special city

Excellent location - less than 10 minute walk to walled city/old town with many restaurants and bars. Supermarket about 5 minute walk and beautiful Banja beach about the same. Accommodation rustic style in line with the property. Lovely pool and outdoor seating/sunbathing areas. Polite, friendly and accommodating staff (Maria) who also organised wine and chocolates for my husband’s birthday. We never made breakfast so cannot comment on that. I would recommend going to hotel across road (Excelsior) which i think the Villa is part of and having a drink in the bar, amazing views of the sea and old town and if there for the sunset its extra special.

Lovely Oasis in Dubrovnik

We stayed here for three nights at the end of our Croation vacation and are so glad we did. Maria was wonderful, she greeted us with a warm welcome, served us breakfast every morning and was eager to help us in any way she could to ensure our stay in Dubrovnik was an enjoyable one. We hope to return to Dubrovnik one day, there is so much more to see, and will definitely return to Villa Alure when we do!
